Scream V, or Scream, is the 2022 addition to the classic horror franchise, which sees the series return to its Woodsboro roots as, 25 years on from the first Ghostface murders, the killer is on the loose again — only the mask is donned by a new assailant. The first in the franchise not to be directed by Wes Craven following his sad passing in 2015, this film rightfully pays homage to the great legacy the veteran left behind with a movie that feels perfectly true to the franchise. Filled with knowing scares and gruesome death, this is a wonderful addition to one of horror’s best franchises. - Jake Hodges

Following on from the huge success of Part I, A Quiet Place Part II sees the Abbott family venture into the horrors of the outside world as they continue to navigate the reality that silence is the only thing keeping them from death. The concept of A Quiet Place really is its best feature, with Part II intelligently building upon the first outing without attempting to drastically alter what went so right before. However, unlike the first one, this installment is much louder, with the dial turned up to eleven as a more explosive tale bursts into life. A Quiet Place Part II is the perfect addition to Netflix’s horror lineup. - Jake Hodges

Written by Ian McDonald and directed by Anna Kendrick in her directorial debut, Woman of the Hour follows the Pitch Perfect star as Cheryl Bradshaw, the woman who appeared on The Dating Game and infamously won a date with serial killer Rodney Alcala (Daniel Zovatto). So often, films about serial killers are infatuated with the perpetrator's story. In a refreshing turn of events, Woman of the Hour frames itself on another, with the choice to focus on Cheryl Bradshaw, making this much more palatable before it has even begun. Beautifully examining violence in misogyny, Woman of the Hour brings both a thoughtful eye and plenty of entertainment. - Jake Hodges
